Rights and Obligations

1. Publishers, individuals or legal entities of a private nature resident in Galicia, whose main activity is the publication of books in Galician, who have a catalogue of at least ten titles published in Galician, disseminated through the regular book distribution channels, and publish biannually at least ten new titles in Galician.

2. Publishers, individuals or legal entities of a private nature, with a head office based outside Galicia, that have at least 50% of their catalogue edited in the Galician language, whose main activity is the publication of books, who have a catalogue of at least ten titles published in Galician, disseminated through the regular book distribution channels, and publish biannually at least ten new titles in Galician.

3. Publishers, individuals or legal entities of a private nature resident in Galicia, whose main activity is the publication of books, which have a minimum number of 25 titles spread through the usual channels of distribution of books and publish biannually at least 10 new titles.

4. Publishers, individuals or legal entities of a private nature based in Galicia, whose main activity is not publishing, which have a catalogue of five recent titles in Galician disseminated through the usual channels; or publishers residing outside the region whose main activity is not publishing and whose number of annual Galician titles, being less than ten in total, comprise 50% of its catalogue; or those other publishers, individuals or legal entities of private character based in Galicia whose main activity is not the publishing of books, although not published in Galician have a catalogue of 15 titles published in languages other than Galician; these may form part of the Association acting as affiliates, with a voice but no vote, but will have a representative on the Board of Directors.

When publishing changes from a primary activity to a secondary one, or vice versa, or when there is a significant change in the number of titles published, the status of the members of the Association may change, in accordance with the rules as interpreted by the Board, and with the ratification of the General Assembly.

This status change will be made by the proposal of the Board and with the approval of the Assembly, and will involve an automatic review of the fees payable by the member affected by the change.

In addition, from the time when a new member is accepted, but prior to payment of the first installment of membership fees, the member will be entitled to receive all the information issued by the Association until the due date of the following installment.
